![]() Deep Blue had to be programmed by prior human beings. Deep Blue won a chess match over Gary, but did this computer do this on its own cognition? Absolutely, not. To win a game of chess over Gary Kasparov, a computer must be programmed by world class chess players who know the game. A computer must be programmed prior to playing a game of chess (if it is to operate). But does a computer have ‘consciousness’ (a living inner world)? I would suggest that a computer is without a real inner world which thinks (consciously). Ultimately, it is a prior human being who provides the INPUT.Ī computer can play chess and win over a human player. It’s output depends on its ‘input’.Ī computer functions from prior INPUT. The human BRAIN may be equal to Deep Blue but the human MIND is superior!Ī Computer needs (INPUT) to function.
